Praying with Confidence: Advice for More Effective Prayers

Prayer is how we intentionally communicate with the Source, Supreme Consciousness, the Creator, the Highest-Self, or what most people call God. The Highest-Self is not restricted by the ego. The highest version of ourselves exists in another dimension with energy at a much higher frequency. Therefore, when we pray, we are literally opening up portal ways to that realm. Prayer is the direct line into the kingdom of heaven. On the flip side, meditation is the direct line from the kingdom of heaven to us. Prayer is the vehicle that carries our praise, worship, gratitude, and special requests directly to the Source. 

A skeptic may ask, "If God is omnipresent knowing everything, then why should we have to formally pray?" He/She supposedly sees and knows everything and should already know about the situation, how we feel, and what we need, correct? Yes, that is true to an extent. It is impossible for us to have awareness of everything around us or everything that affects us. Therefore, we are unable to pray on it. Don't worry, the Creator got us covered! Isaiah 65:24  "Before they call I will answer; while they are speaking I will hear." Essentially, our needs are addressed before we are even aware of them. Simultaneously, our universe is structured in a way that before anything manifests, energy must be expended, thus the Universal Law of Action. It dictates that action must occur prior to anything taking place and every action has a result. If there is no action, there is no result. Prayer is action! We must become willful participants in how our lives unfold. On the other hand, a skeptic may argue that if we are praying to our Highest-Selves that it doesn't make sense and is comparable talking to yourself! No, it is not the same thing. First of all, self is consciousness existing in multiple dimensions or levels of reality. Each level of reality is comprised of different frequencies of energy. The nature of the physical world presents obstacles that encourages disconnect from the higher realities. The purpose of ascension is to overcome those obstacles in order for all levels of self (consciousness) to merge as one. The highest level of consciousness is the Highest-Self. It has access to information that the less evolved versions do not have. Imagine if the 5 year old you could communicate with 50 year old you. Just imagine the direction, guidance, and assistance the 50 year old would provide to the younger self. The 50 year old has the vantage point of existing further in time. Therefore, he/she already knows the actual and potential future events of the 5 year old self and can direct him/her accordingly. When we pray, we are communicating with something that is beyond the space/time continuum and sees the entire scenario.

I am a writer and that is one of my gifts and what I love to do. Public speaking is not my calling. I can do it if necessary, to a limited extent on a satisfactory level, but it is not one of my strengths. I cannot pour out eloquent and soul-stirring prayers at a moment's notice as I have heard from others. When I am asked to pray at an event or gathering, it is short and sweet! Guess what? Eloquence and having the right words is not a requirement for prayer. Hello! When you can't put into words or express what you feel and want, the Creator (Highest-Self) can read, interpret, and feel everything in your soul. He/She can feel your pain and every emotion you are experiencing. He/She can decipher a scrambled and confused mind and hear exactly what you are trying to say! The Creator innately can interpret the unspoken messages of your heart and soul. All you have to do is direct your intention towards Him/Her....that's it! As long as you have the desire to communicate, it will happen. Oftentimes, we don't even know what we want or need, but the Highest-Self always knows. However, we must request the help, if not via words, via the mind/heart. Romans 8:26  "Likewise the spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words."

~In order to pray effectively with words, we must look at the components that make-up a prayer~

1.  Praise/Worship: One or more statements that recognize the beauty, power, strength, awesomeness, etc., of the Creator. Acknowledging what makes Him/Her great and worthy of praise. Worship is the expression of love, adoration, and reverence we have for the Creator. Praise lists the reasons why we worship divinity. Worship is the love and respect we have for divinity.

2.  Gratitude: One or more statements expressing that you are thankful for things, people, situations, etc. in your life and of those you love. Gratitude is one of the keys to manifestation. The more grateful you are the more you get what you are grateful for.

3. Forgiveness: Asking the Higher-Self to forgive you for violating commandments and doing low vibrational things that moves us further from the Source. Ultimately, forgiveness facilitates the mobilization of higher vibrations to dissipate lower vibrations. Please note that lack of forgiveness for others will prevent the Highest-Self from forgiving you..."Forgive us as we forgive those who trespass against us..." 

4. Affirmations: Requesting what we want and need. However, most of us do this the wrong way. The traditional church teaches supplication by way of begging and pleading for something. In contrast, what we desire should be expressed as an affirmation, such as, "I am wealthy, I am healthy, I will have a safe trip, my business will thrive, I am going to find true love." This is not arrogance, but matching your intention with the energy you are aligning yourself with. If you want to be a multimillionaire, you must align yourself with that frequency. Instead of saying, "Lord, please let me become a multimillionaire." It is better stated, "I am a multimillionaire!" Imagine how you would actually feel if you was a multimillionaire and adopt that same state of mind. Begin acting as if you are financially wealthy, of course, within the boundaries of your present situation. It doesn't matter if it has not actually happened yet because the spiritual realm does not operate within time. Stop begging and pleading to the Creator and become a creator.

5.  Compassion: The Universal Law of Oneness provides the link that divinely connects all that exists. One cannot have adoration for the macrocosm and despise the microcosm. Hello! Please make an effort to insert compassion for others by making affirmations about the collective and not just your personal circumstances, for example, "Famine and poverty have been obliterated around the world!" I believe it is important to acknowledge our connection with other living things, particularly human beings. By doing this, you are sending more good energy to the Source. You can believe it will send it right back to you magnified! 

Planning Prayers  

If you are like me and not very skilled at eloquently expressing yourself in prayer, then you can pre-write your prayers. In the same manner that you would write a poem, all kinds of prayers can be constructed. Using the guidelines that I provided, write out your prayers. Furthermore there is nothing wrong with reading them when you are actually praying. You can even keep a prayer folder/notebook with different prayers you've created for different situations. I spent most of my life saying the Lord's Prayer verbatim as quoted by Yeshua. I did not know then I could have received better results from creating my own prayers. Using Biblical scriptures as prayers is appropriate when you are at a loss for words. Select one that reflects, as close as possible, what you wish to pray about. It is okay to use a prayer that has been written by or being quoted by someone else. At the least, attempt to change it a little and customize it for yourself. Your prayers are more effective if they emerge from the yearnings of your soul.

Praying Out Loud Versus Quietly or Inside Your Head

There are various Bible verses that indicate praying out loud is more powerful and has more impact on the spiritual realm. The metaphysical explanation is that spoken words shift energy more vigorously toward manifestation as evidenced by God speaking the world into existence. Genesis 1:3  "And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light."  I recommend praying out loud whenever you can, however, this is not always possible. As previously discussed, one does not even need actual words or organized thoughts to send messages to their ethereal destination.

Making the Most of the Metaphysical

Nikola Tesla was a well-known inventor, electrical engineer, and visionary who believed the numbers 3,6, and 9 held major significance in the creation of our universe and the mathematical patterns that it contains. This is definitely an area I am going to do more research. Manifestation can possibly be accelerated by incorporating those specific numbers in your prayer rituals. I suggest making 3 affirmations in your prayer, then praying 6 times per day for approximately 9 days. At that point, make 3 different affirmations and do the same thing changing affirmations every 9 days. I am going to try this and can't wait to see the results! This is not witchcraft, but science.

In brief, do not avoid communicating with your divinity because you don't have confidence in your praying ability. Do not be intimidated by those prayer warriors who have the gift of belting out the most eloquent prayers at a moment's notice. We all can be prayer warriors and fully reap the benefits that it has to offer.
